Walking home in sub zero temperatures will chill you to your bones, and this is precisely what happened last night. I knew I had a few hours of prep time to play with as Melanie was working late, so I quickly decided to get a warm pot of soup done up for her arrival.

The soup was actually simple to put together, we actually had everything on hand, and add to that a warm piece of french bread and you’ve got nostalgia in a bowl (well, for me at least! If only I had a fireplace where I could hang my feet near…)

With fall season upon us, it’s quickly becoming apple dessert time around the house. Since Andre ordered requested that I make one of his favorite desserts, I simply had to try my hand at these. The recipe is quite simple and with store bought puff pastry, they’re quick to bake as well!

This is an old recipe of mine that I first discovered at least 3 years ago. Melanie dug it out of our recipe folder and ordered kindly asked that I make it for supper tonight. What followed was quite possibly the tastiest meal I’ve had in months.

Well, we’ve had a butternut squash in the fridge for well over 6 weeks now (those things never seem to go bad!) and I finally decided to whip up a tasty favorite of ours! The maple syrup truly adds a sweet and soft touch to this recipe, while the crunchy croutons balance out the textures.
