Orange Ginger Stir Fry Sauce

It seems like its been ages since I’ve posted a recipe! EEK!

Anywho….Melanie isn’t a big fan of soya sauce, and it goes without saying that she’s also not a fan of your typical Teriyaki stir fry sauce. Over the years I thought she just didn’t like stir frys, but it turns out it was the sauce’s fault all along! Shame on you sub par sauce! So with my resolve in hand and some creative kitchen engineering, I whipped up a fresh batch of homemade stir fry sauce!

Savory Guacamole

This is a quick recipe that is tasty, simple and refreshing. Pair it up with some delicious tortilla chips, salsa and beer and you’ve got the makings of a classy Sunday NFL football party. Greek Salad

We sometimes have hearty vegetables laying around the house, well, in the fridge I suppose, and what better way to make use of them than to make a delightfully refreshing chunky Greek salad. Peach Raspberry Clafoutis (aka Peach Phuck Phace)

My partner and I received the most amazing gift ever for our Commitment Ceremony – a Kitchen Aid Mixer! Since then, all I’ve wanted to do is bake, and I’ve been looking for every possible excuse. Tilapia is by far our household’s favorite fish. It’s cheap, meaty and deliciously nutty! I decided to add a carribean twist to our pan seared tilapia, and while I was making it, thought it could use something sweet and refreshing to balance out the heat. I spotted a peach in the corner of my eye and instantly I knew that was the ticket!

Caribbean Pineapple Salsa

We recently had a Caribbean cookout with friends, as some might say ‘Bachannal’. The weather was hot and the drinks were cold: Perfect for a caribbean day full of food! This salsa originally called for habanero peppers, a full cup of them, but their rarity in Southern Ontario made it rather difficult to find, so I used hot yellow peppers. (Recipe adapted from 28 cooks). Add the sweetness of the pineapple and you’ve got a medium spicy salsa that is addictive!
